NYFW Day 4 & 5

The looks from those days were stunning, all of what we need for fall.

Y-3: My favorite look, youd look like a count be chic but yet sporty at the same time. I love this sort of look and I love the way he paired it off with sneakers. I want this whole thing.

Derek Lam: Prints and Leather = GOLD. Also look at the collar, mixture heaven.

Preen: Pretty and warm colors. Just look at the pattern and color blocking on the sleeves of that shirt, sometimes you need just that in an outfit.

Beautiful Lela Rose: All printed and the modern woman gray dress is underneath, what a fashionable touch. Check out the ankle socks with the heels. (Gossip Girl circa 1944 anyone?)

And a little Moncler (Grenoble): I loved the scene that they held it at the Skating Rink Wollman at Central Park. Nice to show the clothing, something exciting every year. Remember the flash mob in Grand Central a season past. This outfit it the ultimate winter outfit. You can bundle up and look like Grace Kelly taking a trip to the Swiss Alps.

NYFW Day 2 & Day 3 ~ Solid as a rock

So this type time around on days 2 and 3, im seeing some quite exotic ideas and some that are just plain "alright" but what the fk? You know what I mean?

I loved this look from Jill Stuart.
Very Subtle but the pop of pattern in the shirt really makes this a lot of fun for a younger girl. This has a 90s feel. The way the jacket ties at the top or the piece on her neck is quite "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Love it.

This piece from Herve Leger was very noteworthy. It spurred what the heck on all levels. I quite liked the trapese artist with warrior princess feel but it felt too much in mixture with the patterns. Though I am a sucker for avant garde, avant not is more like it.

The makeup from Christian Siriano was quite a statement! Loved the black lip and the overall subdued gauche. This play on texture is quite lovely to see. Can you imagine being seen wearing this on the subway? It screams "Mess with me and see what happens!"

And of course Christian ends with a lovely series of his amazing dress and gown designs. I love this because it reminds me of a catwoman mentality.

The cuts and trims at Jason Wu is beautiful. So structural and architecturally done. I quite liked it. MY favorite look from it. The lady in red can now kick your ass.

Alexander Wang: My best friend in the whole wide world! I love the play on textures once again, (common theme now!) and the mouth cover. Very avant and quite sadistic at the same time. I love this jacket, just something about it screams wear me. Interesting piece to have into the closet yes? I can imagine deep purple pants pants and black loafers ,can you? The woman within unleashed! I mean some of it is ok, but some pieces i quite loved.

Rebecca Minkoff I always love to see the effortless chic, the young girl doing a mini chignon quickly and throws on a gorgeous patterned shirt with a textured pants and her heels. Plus I love the Minkoff bags, im a sucker for them.

Pretty Suno down by Milk Studios #MADE. The pretty patterns alights the light in my life. Those pants with a white shirt and black flip flops, with my Rebecca Minkoff Zebra Bag. I need it for the summer. Effortless.

And Lastly a little Rag&Bone. Gorgeous elongation of the already tall model. She looks amazing and bright. and those leggings pairing with the drapping throw sweater is GOLD. Snow BUNNY be jealous.

What I really love this season is the backdrops and the space that the designers use to show their lines in. Give such an amazing atmosphere for the clothing. You envision yourself doing the catwalk too right? I cant blame.

Day 4 im ready!

NYFW Day 1~ On Fire Honor & Richard Chai

So yesterday was the major kick off of New York Fashion Week here in NYC! (Ha!) But another season at the beautiful Lincoln Center it just makes you feel right at home!

Yesterday showed some amazing designers that got to show first, my personal favorites Honor and Richard Chai Love showed yesterday and I loved what I saw!
Here are some pictures of my favorite looks of what will possibly be popular this fall 2012.

From Honor: Gorgeous mixture of patterning and textures with some lovely beautiful shades and hues! Plus layering for the cold! The show overall was amazing and makes the fall winter months where people have SADS and need a light box therapy, sure as hell can get over it with these duds! Casual, comfortable, and fashionable at the same time.

This next outfit I love, the textures like a jacquard look! I could wear them separately you know! Forget the normal private school uniform brand, I want Honor. Plus the way the belt cuts them so its not over kill (on some people's eyes) is a lovely minimalist touch. I could have so much fun with this.

From Richard Chai, striped and ombre hues were the theme! Amazing dashes of color. This jacket I want from Richard Chai! Can chic le stripe?
Also this is from Richard Chai as well! Those pants would be sick to wear with an all black outfit or a possible long trench coat in khaki with a blue shirt.
Costello Tagliapietra: Amazing balls of fun! Their show is always so well put together and done. The clothes always come off like a canvas of fun.

Jenni Kayne: Even though this has been done before, there is something about this Xena warrior princess and russian royalty style dressing that has me going bonkers!

This is a gorgeous dress by Tadashi Shoji, who had jewel tones all over and gowns that could make functionaries cry! This is a regal dress, I could tell. The neck line is amazing, and the heming is low. I could see only two people in this dress: Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep. I would not be surprised if I was them get to wear this to a function or carpet premiere. So elegant and regal.

And thats only the first day. Can you imagine what the rest will be?
