Stylin' with Kohls --Spring 2011

What a crossbody.

My sour face! Owooo!

So, I went into Kohls last week Friday with my best bud Laura and basically, she was my clothes horse.

I decided to have her try on different look using the same key pieces, a versatile spring look from Simply Vera by Vera Wang, LC by Lauren Conrad, and other Brands found in Kohls usually.

The price point is from $29 on the LC by Lauren Conrad t-shirt to the highest buying the Simply Vera Anorak for $50 bucks on sale.

This is my own styling. I decide to do a styling session once every two weeks from looks seen at Target, Walmart, and Kohls, to show that fashion could be found dirt cheap or close to dirt cheap without exuberant price tags.

Look #1 - Go Hard or Go Home.

Basically, this piece can work for both night and day. A Floral Top by LC by Lauren Conrad and the jacket is Chanel inspired found in the sales rack for 28 bucks? Not a bad buy. And of course skinny jeans. You could definitely transition from day to night with this look. Edgy yet feminine.

Look #2- Hello Ms. Warren , see you at Bergdorfs for Lunch.

Cute, edgy, and awesome. This was my favorite sweater out of the bunch I picked out to style. Its Simply Vera by Vera Wang, Very gorgeous and glam. The detailing on the shoulder can bring out the best in any outfit and take it over the top with that edgy feel. So I decided to pair it with the same floral top to give a good contrast. This is a great outfit to hang with friends, go to lunch, or an intern running errands at a magazine. Always look your best!

Look #3 - Driving Ms. Francis

Basically this is very feminine to me. I decided to play up the frill and ruffles of both pieces by combining them! ULTRA FEMME. Once again, the same LC by Lauren Conrad top and a Kohls Brand sweater thats only 20 bucks.

A nice little director break - Gorgeous LC by Lauren Conrad woven sweater thats light weight and reminds me of the holed Alex Wang but they are much smaller holes. TOP: Nightmare before christmas tee. (I decided to celebrate 10 months earlier, much love xox)
Back to Outfits:

Look #4- Riviera and the city?

Laura and I both agreed to use this Simply Vera by Vera Wang Spring Anorak. I personally loves Anoraks, so cool you could do anything and they look amazing. I do not know why but it gives the floral top and jeans, a city chic look. Great for an intern during the Spring on a casual day.

Look#5 - Color Bolor

Both the sweater and top is Simply Vera by Vera Wang! A cool look for a spring day. Nice for the daytime because the pop of "artist canvas painted" colors on the top is fun. Not to mention a great conversation piece. A nice neckline not low or too high but just right.

Look #6 - Lady in White
Gorgeous Gorgeous. The Ruffles and the color both together. The White definitely can bring out that color. Top is Simply Vera. Sweater: Kohl Brand.

Look #7 - All Smiles

Okay this is great. I added a green button up 3/4 sleeve shirt because sometimes you can not just wear a top under an anorak, you need a little something there, I get from people. This is the answer. Not exactly western but very lax. For all girls.

Look #8 - Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh my gosh.

This is a great tee for the day and I love the crunchy flowers with the ruffles of the white drape sweater. Very femme. ULTRA FEMME. The tee is LC by Lauren Conrad. I love it as it can help the transition of winter to spring. The sweater material is light but appropriate.

Look #9 - Deco Lets go.
This dress is the one I had to pick up. LC by Lauren Conrad. She truly designed a great collection for this season, that girl can design and she is so amazing. I would love to know just how, how she does this amazing work and its affordable. Its great for evening time. Picture going to the park for a walk.

Look #10 - Lady, Hear Me Tonight
This is for girls like me. Sometimes you can not stand to wear dress bare leg or can not have the utter confidence to have your trunder thighs graze the leggings, which some people wear as pants with short tops, OH MY EYES. I can not comprehend and will not try. Bon Voyage. Anyway, this is great. I love to wear them with trouser cuffed pants, bermuda shorts, khaki shorts, jeans, and cuff pants. I love it with the anorak. Romantic looking indeed. Softens the dress for those who can not take too much femme.

The LC by Lauren Conrad Floral with ruffle detail dress in detail.

Then, I make my grand finale.
I believe Cargo Pants are appropriate with a Chanel inspired Jacket. City Chic. Dont judge. :)

And if anyone did not pick up, this shoot was inspired by the H&M three way mirror commercials, especially the last photo.

After all that, chicken fingers with sweet potato fries. See that Mesquite BBQ sauce? Inviting?
Tempting no?

Then to Target, where I found some Proenza Schouler-esque pieces that Jack and Laz would be proud of.

Then these cool silk front and cotton back tops that could really dress up or down any outfit.

Then I make my way home to find a lovely package waiting for me. Its the vintage Burberry jacket I ordered! :O

Amazing?

Obsessed with Carven & Blast from Chanel's Past

I am in official love with this spring/ summer cotton and silk material crme jacket by Carven. I love the double breasted style buttons, remind me of pea coats, and the random zipper not in the center but off to the side.

If I were doing a monotone or neutral spring. Khaki colored shorts I have from H&M would do wonders with this. A nice statement necklace from Zara I saw the other day would go great with it. It was a greenish hue. And then I would wear my Michael Kors sandals that I have now had forever.

Also what im in love with is this ad of Claudia Schiffer for Chanel 1992. Shot by Karl Lagerfeld. The old chanel I am still in love with. Such a breathtaking photo and the lighting is perfect.

The perfect Leather outfit. The one that came close to this was Anne Hathaway's character in Devil Wears Prada (my favorite movie, that im watching now for FASHION WEEK here in NYC!) that all Chanel outfit that she makes that drastic change into thus stunning Gisele and Emily Blunt's character into stunned bitches mode.
Omg, I want that huge lambskin leather bag. Perfect weekend travel bag, must cost tons.

Its also Fashion Week here in NYC, time for the Fashion Types to swarm all studios, stores, street photography, starbucks full orders, distressed PR workers, Lincoln Center art types all leave in disarray, that 1 train to be full, taxis and towncars all in tow and hard to get. Man I love fashion week. The friendly security at the doors. The Daily magazines available each day in the lobby at damrosch park and starbucks frappucinos.

Lets get it all! Today is the Hearts Truth Red Dress. I cant wait to hear who modeled this year and what beautiful "Lady in Red" Dresses will grace us.

Fall 2011 lets get it!

Max Mara Spring 2011, how I love you.

I always loved the structure and classic fun that is embodied in Max Mara. This season I loved the whole you "can wear suits with fun colors with a natural face".

The makeup was so light and nice, the only thing was the defined cheek bones, those are gorgeous and right for the powerful female woman.

It was definitely feeling very Italian to me. I love that aesthetic. The collection's minimalism is gorgeous.

Juan Carlos Obando Spring 2011 ----NYFW Day 3

Juan Carlos is amazing as always, he showed down by Milk Studios & Mac.

I believe his inspiration might been the women warriors with flair. The environment they thrive in being Urban or in the future.

The wrist cuffs remind me of gladiators with strength and honor.

I loved the various architectural elements, the cut out looks, the variety of colors which can make the look achieved work for everyone who may not like only black, blue, pink, or white.

I want.

Lela Rose Spring/ Summer 2011 --NYFW DAY 4

I got up early and went to the Lela Rose show today. I checked in and got my ticket to go into standing. Then I was told there was space in the row to sit.. So I sat in the 4th row. :) Oh how cool.

I saw Christian Siriano there, Linda Fargo from Bergdorf Goodman, Ken Downing from Saks Fifth Avenue, and a few other influentials and icons.

I got the show program and everything about 34 looks in total at Lela Rose, which were inspired by Lima, Peru. The drappery, the architecture, the vibrant colors, mixture of the old and the new, and the textiles of the South American nation inspired this whole collection.

Unforunately, my camera phone was not working well and my Nikon is being repaired. The beauty look at Lela Rose was a messy Side braid, which was chic and lovely lips. It made the show have a princessy, romantic feel.

I definitely could tell the difference between a Milly and a Lela Rose. Milly and Lela Rose is about the femininity of the female power yet Milly is more about the girl essence and focus solely on the ultra feminine girl for example, Blair Waldorf. The encarnation of dresses and on every Gossip Girl episode, she looks very refined, sure of herself, and knows what she wants. That is essentially the Milly girl. Fun yet serious Milly girl. Lela Rose is usually Romantic yet the whole collection does not compare of dresses and endless dresses. The Lela Rose girl is more laid back, looks awesome in whatever she wears. If it be cut, the skin is golden. Okay, both are cultured to many effects yet my babble will go on and on in circles.

The vibe of the show was terrific. If put next to the Alexander Wang show, it was much brighter. The models were very gracious and yet fiesty. The whole show made me feel like I was in Central America but literally.

The caught a glimpse of the shoes, they are to be available for purchase this Spring 2011, as they are the Lela Rose x Payless shoes for this season.

Towards the ending, I ran into a few people and one of them being Linda Fargo, oh my god, my heart nearly stopped.

Well I went outside and entered a contest. So lets see if I win. Then went to the TRESemme' Center for an impromtu photo shoot. This is a bit of a bad picture. It was the first one, I was a little nervous.I was wearing my Vintage find Christian Dior Blazer, Gap Slimline jeans, Vintage Lace-up militia-style boots, Lela Rose dotted top , and Aquamarine striped button up shirt.

At the end of the day, I just had to switch to my alternate shoes which were these:So comfy, yet chic. Michael Kors saves your feet.

Happy STARBUCKS VANILLA FRAPPE.

Milano Men S2011 Part Due!

As I have yesterday, flocks and herds continue to galavant in Milano!

Today I shall a look upon: Burberry Prorsum, Alexander McQueen, Dolce&Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli

Over at Burberry Prorsum there was: boys in shades, the trenches, khaki colors, browns, blacks, military styles, scoop neck shirts, the showing of chests again!, tailored slim pants to perfection, rockerish feel and little country meets military city with the normal aesthetic of Burberry. lovely hues for spring Loved it!

Alexander McQueen, under Sarah Burton who did a great fierce job!, was a very interesting collection as it reminded me of career day, like different guys in different career-type outfits, one looked like a pilot, and one looked like a matador! There was a variety of pants such as wide legs and slim pants. This one had a 1920-1930s feel to it. very cool hues for spring. The pants truly reminded me of the baseball era during which babe ruth, yogi berra, and joe dimaggio ruled.

Dolce & Gabbana was sexy and 40s with a twist of James Bond feeling as always! There was a resurgence of bare chests! shorts , legs, and gorgeous italian image! Crisp white shirts with khaki cropped pants/capris. All color ensembles, gorgeous striped shirts and tidy-widies. Towards the end the ripped jeans and stampede of Bond-like dudes in the classic suits we love to close it. The use of blacks, whites, cremes, and khaki colors making the collection a true spring/summer staple for men who may love fashion, want to look cool, look good, or need to wear something! Dolce & Gabbana always do a great job of delivering that! No wonder my dad loves their blazers!

Last but not least, Roberto Cavalli, the man of prints, animalistic feeling, and sensuality we all love as racked up a stunning collection for men this spring! The flocks of colors, a 70s vibe! Printed pants, transitional colored pants, matching blazers (at times), bollywood type of feel, opium denish feel, and slim pants once again. The man who loves his color, vibrant lifestyle, and doesnt give a sh*t about what anyone thinks. A+++

Milano Men's Fashion Week S2011

Milan menswear is indeed upon us as fashion flocks back to Milan for the menswear collections to come out of fashion houses such as Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, John Varvatos, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Etro, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, Burberry, and Prada.

I spent almost half the day watching videos and jamming down ideas and comments I got on the shows I got to see and loved what my little eyes behold upon.

Over at John Varvatos: An array of deep grays, navy, and blacks on jackets, blazers, and vests. It reminds of a european paperboy back during madeline's time. Country-rocker. The one look that was nice was the plaid suit and long haired dude. He had this cool aura about him, mostly all of the gorgeous dudes did. The look was casual and cool yet effortless. The pants were either at the knee or to the ankle but they tailored so well. The between straight and skinny pair of pants on a guy is truly lux.

Versace had a nice aura as well: It had a 50s-60s feel to it, some looks made the men seem like mechanic's on a night out with the flounced hair. Once again, the pants same like varvatos, truly tailored to perfection! The colors here were like High School prom jewel tones and checkered looks, truly divo european chic. Towards the ending, were chests galore with boxers and vast robes in animal prints for the inner rocker or playboy in all guys. Divine.

Gucci did a double take indeed. It was all about showing a little chest hair in a rugged way yet stylish way. And boy are men showing legs for spring 2011. Denim hues, browns, and cool navy and creme hues. Some looking like fall 2010 looks (but just a hand full). Truly shows the story of the Italian man, very fashion forward, lovely tailoring to the T, that airy confidence about him, stunning navy suits, and the brown hued leather jacket looks and creme hues had a 70s man to it. I wanted to see an afro and gold chain added! The all white looks toward the end were so well put together. And the 4-5 different jewel toned jacket with white pants towards the end were lovely. Again, I wished for a gold chain effect!
