West Virginia obtained five touchdowns against Clemson within the second quarter on it's own, three of which came within the final three minutes prior to the intermission. The Mountaineers obtained 49 total points within the first half. WVU quarterback Geno Smith tied an archive for any dish game with 6 touchdown passes. He or she also broke Ben Brady's Orange Dish record with 401 back yards passing. Wide recipient Tavon Austin experienced four touchdown receptions, tying an archive for any dish game. And lastly, WVU broke the actual record for total points inside a bowl game, that was set six times ago when Baylor defeat Washington 67-56 within the Alamo Bowl.
Once again, this game had been, for Clemson, the public undressing.
Therefore, what were the actual reactions? ACC writers were embarrassed. A few couldn't believe WVU really managed 70 factors.
